Storm is coming?

Hello all, once again, I am here to complain. I was reading all the latest gossip on E News! Online, and I came across an article that was written about an ad in the US concerning gay marriage. A storm is coming, they were saying. When I watched this, I was so completely stunned. The last century for society has been an amazing one with regards to civil rights and equality among everyone. Yet, we are still living in the middle ages with regards to homosexuals.

The question I pose to everyone today, is if it is okay for two heterosexual people to marry when they will most likely be divorced in the years to come, why is it not okay for to gay people? Well, the answer some narrow minded people would give me is that the ‘sanctity’ of marriage has to be protected and that it is only meant for a man and woman.

This is complete BULLSHIT. Most heterosexual couples that marry do not even UNDERSTAND what marriage means, and what it is supposed to represent. I am only 20, and I know that it is meant to be a union between two people that love each other, and determined to be together for the rest of the lives, through all the good and through all the crap happens in a marriage. But the thing is, most heterosexual couples do not have to fight to have the right to marry. No they can just get drunk and marry anyone is Vegas. It doesn’t really matter if they love the person, all that matters is it one of them is male and the other female. So when things get hard, it is easy to bail.

At least when two gay people want to marry, the commitment they have to sharing their life with their partner is evident. They have to fight and go to war with society to allow them to have this right. Give this challenge to every heterosexual couple that wants to marry and I guarantee you half of those engagements would not make it to alter. The drop in divorce rates would be phenomenal!

The sanctity of marriage means nothing these days, and to me that is sad. But what’s sadder is that hypocritical self righteous people are getting in the way of couples that truly are dedicated and loving of marrying.

I’m straight, and I am Catholic, and I can tell you now I hate the way people will use the Bible to protest against homosexuality. It honestly makes me sick. The idea of religion is to teach everyone about FAITH and LOVE. It is not there to judge others, which is something most religious groups do. IT MAKES ME SICK. Everyone is a human being, whether they like boys or girls does not change this fact. Its time people grew up, and just learnt to accept everyone for who they are.

What is happening to our World?

Recently, I was on my computer sifting through news and enetrtainment articles. Most people can agree, that there will always be something that you read, that will make your hair stand on edge and make you wonder how such horrible things can happen. Unfortunately on this day, I was horrified at what I read.

I read three articles in a row this day, with each one leaving me more speechless than before.

The first article I read was about a teenage boy in America that had started this campaign aimed at making younger people aware of how vulgar our general vocab has become. An anti swearing campaign called the 'No cussing Club'. Now, call me crazy, but I found this to be extremely mature, especially as this young boy is only 15 year of age. However, he has now become the target of abuse at the hands of internet group Anonymous. It makes me so angry that when someone finally shows a bit of maturity and yes a bit of class, they become targeted by bullies and to blunt, Jerks.

So at this stage, I was definitely not happy with what I was reading. The second article was a bit closer to home, as I actually had met one of these boys on occassion, as well as members of my family being very close with them.

It was a news article on two brothers who has been crushed by an ice glacier in New Zealand. The brothers had been crushed because they had left the safe zone. They ignored the signs telling them not to go any further. This was a mistake, a mistake though, that sadly ended their young lives. Now the article itself was a standard news one, it was the comments though, that infuriated me. There was this one comment, that was complaining about how they had been called Australians, when they were born in India. To me this was just completely irrelevant and insensitive, and it angered me so much to know that this was all someone cared about, not that two people has lost their lives. Then there was another comment, where a lady said, word for word "Two more stupid idiots not obeying rules and now other peoples lives are in danger looking for their bodies. Let them rot." I thought I was going to be sick! These two boys should not have been where they were, yes that is correct, yet to be so cruel. How is this necessary? Did she not give one thought to the parents of these boys? These two poor people who lost their only children, who had to return to Australia from a a family holiday not knowing if their youngest sons body would ever be recovered. I just couldn't believe it, and it's nearly a month later and it still makes my stomach turn. I just will never understand such cruelty!

The third article that I read, was about a man who was on a car park complex, wating to jump. There were police on the scene, trying so hard to save this young man from himself, to bring him down to safety. They were seconds away from grabbing his hand, when a group of people at the bottom of the complex started taunting him, telling him to jump. Then the final taunt, 'Jump already', and the young man turned away from the police and leaped to his death. I am still speechless about this. I just can't fathom where these people who are just so cruel and uncaring come from. They make me sick. And to be honest, it's when i read things like this, that I hope Karma really exists.

Another Disney Actress, Another Nude Scandal

Today in the gossip section, there were photos of another Disney star, Adrienne Bailon, posing nude for her boyfriend. Now, I am not against MATURE AGED girls (and by this i mean BOTH mature and older) taking a few raunchy pics for their partners. However I am against it when a complete lack of sense is shown when they continually leave them on devices that are so easily accessed and then posted all over the world for so many young and impressionable girls to see.

What really frustrates me is when people say, 'who cares? she is just a normal girl living her life.'
This frustrates me because she is NOT a normal person living her life. She is an actress for Disney, and she stars in movies for young girls, generally younger than 10 years of age. There is a certain responsibility that goes along with this job, whether she likes it or not. It doesn't matter which actress it is, and there is a good number of them that this applies to, they know going into this job that they will have the power to influence and young girls. And this is not a message that should be promoted.

I do not want my future children to grow up and believe that it is okay to take semi naked or indeed, complete nude photos of themselves and place them for the world to see. It definitely makes me furious when i see girls posting comments to articles displaying these nude photos saying "Everyone does it get off her back." I have news for these girls, it doesn't matter if 'everyone' does it. It does not make classy, respectful or RIGHT.

If Disney actresses want to take naked photos, show a little bit of intelligence and make sure it is in a safe place where NO ONE but yourself can access it.

Television and all its perks!

Girls flashing their boobs, their g strings, swearing like warfies, boozily sucking the faces guys. This is what I was confronted with while watching the British program “Ladettes to lady”. I won’t lie, I definitely was amused by the girls’ antics, but at the same time I wondered how these girls weren’t embarrassed. I may sound a little like a prude, but I just don’t understand how these girls can look at themselves in the mirror, and be proud of what they see.

I think the same thing when I watch a show like Big Brother. A contestant would be running around, screaming profanities, cheapening themselves by their actions and simply looking like an idiot in front of the nation. But when they are evicted, a parent or sibling would say how proud they were of them. I simply just don’t understand this!

If my brother was in the Big Brother house, and I saw him acting like a buffoon, I would not praise him, I would say, “My brother’s an idiot and he should be ashamed of himself!” Or if my sister ever acted like the girls do on Laddettes to lady, I would give her such a slap that she would NEVER behave like that again.

Unfortunately though, it seems no one really thinks the way I do, and this sickening glorification of idiots has become extremely common in our society. It’s just sad. Society has become definitely become a mess. I heard the other night, someone say that ‘we are in an age where a home made sex tape of an heiress barely raises an eye brow.’ This is the truth, and I think certain morals and values need to come back into mainstream society.

I know when I am older and I have settled down and have kids, I don’t want them to think that it is okay to act in a way that cheapens their self worth, but I’m afraid that if I am only one in their life saying this behaviour is not acceptable, my voice will be drowned out by the rest of society saying it is.

N.B Just to clarify, I know I've had a go at these two shows, but only because I hate the way they glorify trashy and foolish behaviour. They are still amusing to watch!

Time to grow up.

One day, my boyfriend and I were at Highpoint shopping centre enjoying a relaxing coffee at an outdoor cafĂ©. It was virtually empty, with the exception of a few passers-by’s coming and going from the centre. It was wonderfully peaceful.

Then out of nowhere came two screaming bells, running as fast as they could. As they passed us we heard them scream something about security being after them. Luca rolled his eyes at me as I shook my head, and then we then got back to our conversation. A minute later however, a swarm of fluro-clad teenagers appeared out of nowhere. Girls that looked like they were 12 were smoking, had what looked to be a make up factory on their faces, had barely any clothes on and were making sure the guys were noticing this. The boys were fighting with security, and every second word was “bro” or “fuckin’”. Every person that walked pass would shake their head at the group.

Now, my question is, do these little kids think they are cool? Do they think their tough? Unfortunately, the answer is obvious – yes they do. They think that everyone is envious of them. But do I have news for them! No one wants to be them. No one is impressed by the fact that these girls look like they could easily fit in down at St Kilda, or that the guys look exactly like those 20-something-year-old station bums asking for smokes off strangers.

These kids need to wake up and see that no one worships them like they think. Whether its kids their age or an adult passing by – they all laugh and smirk at them. Because they are jokes.

Hollywood Glam, What happened?

1950's Hollywood: A time where everything had class, sophistication and real glamour. A time when even affairs and scandals were done in style. Leading me and woman had real talent. Not only could they act, but they could sing AND dance. They were real stars.

These days, anyone who stars in a home sex tape is considered to be a star, an 'it' girl. People become famous not because they are gifted, but because of their ability to create gossip. Girls such as Paris HIlton and Lindsay Lohan, who have not one shred of decency or sophistication, are glorified. It is mind goggling to believe that the 'it' girls of Hollywood are ones that:

Have starred in their own sex tape - Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian
Have been arrested - Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton
Have gone to jail - Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie
Have been to Rehab - Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan
And have simply proven themselves to be morons who don't have real respect for anything; just watch 5 minutes from ANY episode of the simple life if you don't believe me.

Compare this to the like of those such as Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren, Katherine Hepburn and even Doris Day. Even if these woman had scandals in their personal life, for example Sophia Loren being barred from ITaly for her marriage to Carlo Ponti, they still worked hard for their place in the lime light. More importantly they possessed something that is rarely seen today, a little something called talent.

These woman carried themselves with sophistication and class. Today, actresses such as Sandra Bullock, Sally Field and Cate Blanchet, echo this. They are talented, they are smart, they clearly respect themselves and make sure that others respect them. This is a dying breed of woman.
You can imitate old Hollywood glamour by putting on a dress, but you can't imitate class.

Welcome all =)

The purpose of this blog is simple - I am going to be bitching and moaning about the trashy way people are living their lives. No one is safe.

Yes I will take on an air of superiority, but only because I can.
Yes I will be judgemental, but I will judge fairly.
Yes I will be annoying to most, but I don't really care.

=)

Love me, hate me, I am still going to be writing my opinion, even if no one ever reads this.

take it easy everyone
