Storm is coming?

Hello all, once again, I am here to complain. I was reading all the latest gossip on E News! Online, and I came across an article that was written about an ad in the US concerning gay marriage. A storm is coming, they were saying. When I watched this, I was so completely stunned. The last century for society has been an amazing one with regards to civil rights and equality among everyone. Yet, we are still living in the middle ages with regards to homosexuals.

The question I pose to everyone today, is if it is okay for two heterosexual people to marry when they will most likely be divorced in the years to come, why is it not okay for to gay people? Well, the answer some narrow minded people would give me is that the ‘sanctity’ of marriage has to be protected and that it is only meant for a man and woman.

This is complete BULLSHIT. Most heterosexual couples that marry do not even UNDERSTAND what marriage means, and what it is supposed to represent. I am only 20, and I know that it is meant to be a union between two people that love each other, and determined to be together for the rest of the lives, through all the good and through all the crap happens in a marriage. But the thing is, most heterosexual couples do not have to fight to have the right to marry. No they can just get drunk and marry anyone is Vegas. It doesn’t really matter if they love the person, all that matters is it one of them is male and the other female. So when things get hard, it is easy to bail.

At least when two gay people want to marry, the commitment they have to sharing their life with their partner is evident. They have to fight and go to war with society to allow them to have this right. Give this challenge to every heterosexual couple that wants to marry and I guarantee you half of those engagements would not make it to alter. The drop in divorce rates would be phenomenal!

The sanctity of marriage means nothing these days, and to me that is sad. But what’s sadder is that hypocritical self righteous people are getting in the way of couples that truly are dedicated and loving of marrying.

I’m straight, and I am Catholic, and I can tell you now I hate the way people will use the Bible to protest against homosexuality. It honestly makes me sick. The idea of religion is to teach everyone about FAITH and LOVE. It is not there to judge others, which is something most religious groups do. IT MAKES ME SICK. Everyone is a human being, whether they like boys or girls does not change this fact. Its time people grew up, and just learnt to accept everyone for who they are.

What is happening to our World?

Recently, I was on my computer sifting through news and enetrtainment articles. Most people can agree, that there will always be something that you read, that will make your hair stand on edge and make you wonder how such horrible things can happen. Unfortunately on this day, I was horrified at what I read.

I read three articles in a row this day, with each one leaving me more speechless than before.

The first article I read was about a teenage boy in America that had started this campaign aimed at making younger people aware of how vulgar our general vocab has become. An anti swearing campaign called the 'No cussing Club'. Now, call me crazy, but I found this to be extremely mature, especially as this young boy is only 15 year of age. However, he has now become the target of abuse at the hands of internet group Anonymous. It makes me so angry that when someone finally shows a bit of maturity and yes a bit of class, they become targeted by bullies and to blunt, Jerks.

So at this stage, I was definitely not happy with what I was reading. The second article was a bit closer to home, as I actually had met one of these boys on occassion, as well as members of my family being very close with them.

It was a news article on two brothers who has been crushed by an ice glacier in New Zealand. The brothers had been crushed because they had left the safe zone. They ignored the signs telling them not to go any further. This was a mistake, a mistake though, that sadly ended their young lives. Now the article itself was a standard news one, it was the comments though, that infuriated me. There was this one comment, that was complaining about how they had been called Australians, when they were born in India. To me this was just completely irrelevant and insensitive, and it angered me so much to know that this was all someone cared about, not that two people has lost their lives. Then there was another comment, where a lady said, word for word "Two more stupid idiots not obeying rules and now other peoples lives are in danger looking for their bodies. Let them rot." I thought I was going to be sick! These two boys should not have been where they were, yes that is correct, yet to be so cruel. How is this necessary? Did she not give one thought to the parents of these boys? These two poor people who lost their only children, who had to return to Australia from a a family holiday not knowing if their youngest sons body would ever be recovered. I just couldn't believe it, and it's nearly a month later and it still makes my stomach turn. I just will never understand such cruelty!

The third article that I read, was about a man who was on a car park complex, wating to jump. There were police on the scene, trying so hard to save this young man from himself, to bring him down to safety. They were seconds away from grabbing his hand, when a group of people at the bottom of the complex started taunting him, telling him to jump. Then the final taunt, 'Jump already', and the young man turned away from the police and leaped to his death. I am still speechless about this. I just can't fathom where these people who are just so cruel and uncaring come from. They make me sick. And to be honest, it's when i read things like this, that I hope Karma really exists.
